Understanding Mythos 5 pricing

Mythos 5 pricing has two layers that are easy to confuse, so it helps to separate them.

Reference rate (shared with Fable 5)

Because Mythos 5 and Fable 5 are the same underlying model, Mythos 5's reference economics match Fable 5: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens after the introductory window. This is the figure to use when reasoning about Mythos-class cost in general.

Glasswing-only access

The key practical difference is distribution. Mythos 5 is the variant with classifiers lifted, and it is Glasswing-only, not generally available the way Fable 5 was on the public API and cloud marketplaces. That means access, and therefore pricing terms, run through the Project Glasswing program rather than standard self-serve billing.

Glasswing Preview pricing

The earlier Mythos Preview (April 2026), delivered to roughly 50 organizations via Project Glasswing, used different pricing of about $25 per million input tokens and $125 per million output tokens. Do not assume Preview economics equal the GA reference rate; they are noticeably higher.

Current availability

A June 12, 2026 US export-control directive suspended access to both Mythos 5 and Fable 5, and that suspension is active. Confirm program status with Anthropic before planning around any of these figures.
