The export-control directive is the June 12, 2026 US government order that suspended access to both Fable 5 and Mythos 5, a suspension that remains currently active.

What it did

Issued on June 12, 2026 — three days after the Fable 5 and Mythos 5 launch — the directive suspended access to both editions. As of this writing the suspension is still in force.

Why it applies

Mythos-class models are high-capability Covered Models with cyberdefense relevance, which places them within the scope of export-control attention.
