Covered Model

Glossary informational Last reviewed Updated

A Covered Model is a policy designation indicating that a model triggers heightened safeguards and obligations because of its capabilities and associated risk profile.

What the label implies

Classifying a model as a Covered Model signals that it falls under stricter handling — additional safety review, monitoring, and policy commitments. Mythos-class models carry this designation.

Practical effects

For Fable 5 and Mythos 5, the Covered Model status is reflected in measures like 30-day data retention (with no zero-data-retention option) and the classifier safeguards built into the public Fable 5 edition.
